About

For me there is a symbiotic relationship between travel and photography; one inspires me to do the other. What’s more, I find I am most influenced by cultures that are the furthest removed from the modern world, as they seem to hold a secret to contentment. Fortunately, I have had the opportunity to live and travel in some of the most exotic places in the world and the inspiration and knowledge I've gained from each and every location I've worked is immeasurable. I am constantly challenging myself to connect with this “sense of place” and make striking images that transfer this insight onto a still frame. As the great Henri Cartier-Bresson once said, “to take photographs is to put one’s head, one’s eye and one’s heart on the same axis”. It is this artistic ethos that first inspired me to use my camera to not only make beautiful images, but also stimulate the viewer’s imagination. Today, I use it to promote global awareness and cultural understanding through my photography. After all, it is when I expose somebody to a place or culture and inspire them to learn more about it, or explore it for themselves that I feel the greatest reward. To me, A World In Focus is more than just my company’s name; it’s a state of mind!
